Since 1989, the British Fashion Awards ceremony has been one of the hottest events on the world’s fashion map, right next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala (MET Gala) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (CFDA Awards).
This year, the ceremony was held in the Royal Albert Hall in London and it was hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross. She wore a dress by Richard Quinn, the designer whose eponymous label won last year’s British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent – Womenswear.
Did you miss out on the red carpet glamour? Here is a list with some of the winners and some of the outfits that stole our hearts.
British Designer of the Year – Menswear: Kim Jones for Dior Men
British Designer of the Year – Womenswear: Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta
Model of the Year: Adut Akech
Business Leader: Remo Ruffini for Moncler
Fashion Icon: Naomi Campbell
Urban Luxe: Fenty
Outstanding Achievement: Georgio Armani
Designer of the Year: Daniel Lee for Bottega Veneta
Brand of the Year: Bottega Veneta
To sum up: 2019 was a powerful year for Bottega Veneta!
Rihanna opted for Fenty. We are not sure we’re digging the cut, but at least we like the pale green colour of her creation. Another stylish gal that chose a design from her very own fashion label? Alexa Chung in ALEXACHUNG.
Julia Roberts was a pretty woman in a two-piece Armani outfit. Rita Ora went for uniqueness in a custom 16 Arlington dress, fashion icon Naomi Campbell wore a breathtaking gown by Alexander McQueen.
Our favourite lady was Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani. It looks like those plunging necklines are made for the actress! Do you agree?
