The Olympic Winter Games are inspired by the ancient Olympic Games held in Olympia, Greece. The first Winter Olympics were those in France in 1924. From 9 to 25 February we are going to witness the XXIII Olympic Winter Games – the multi-sport event for sports on ice and snow: alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jumping, snowboarding and speed skating.
