Balmain x Beyoncé

Balmain x Beyoncé

Even if you’re not a fan of Beyoncé’s music (although we’re pretty sure that most of you are), there is no way you can deny the positive results from Queen B’s activism in the fields of feminism, black pride and family on top of everything.

Luxury fashion house Balmain designed the gorgeous outfits for Beyoncé’s emblematic OTR II tour which is happening at the moment. The singer already collaborated with the brand for a special capsule collection inspired by Bey’s epic performance during the last Coachella edition (when she was also the first black woman to headline the festival).

“When she saw all the dancers loving the outfit—and she was loving her own outfit—she realised that what we were creating on stage for her, for all the dancers, was something really impactful,” says Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director. That’s when they came up with the idea to make a Beyoncé x Balmain collaboration that could make all those graphics and embroideries available for all of Bey’s fans.

The result: a seven-piece Balmain x Beyoncé capsule collection which launched online on Saturday. It includes embroidered hoodies and T-shirts in yellow, pink and black.

The good news: all proceeds will be donated to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students and general scholarship funds for 37 private historically black colleges and universities.

Well done, Bey!
