Electric flights from London to Paris

How long did your last journey take? Did you enjoy your flight? Did you enjoy the plane? We have some major news for all the travel lovers out there!

The start-up company Wright Electric has unveiled ambitious plans to offer an electric-powered commercial flights between London and Paris in the next ten years.

Wright Electric believes the proposed low-emission electric plane would offer a cheaper alternative to jet fuel for both airlines and consumers. Its plane, yet to go into development, would carry around 150 passengers on journeys of less than 500 kilometres. Depending on how they are designed, electric planes could be less loud than a fuel plane.

According to BBC, the British airline Easyjet has entered into discussions with Wright Electric about this new and exciting technology.

The company is relying heavily on innovation in battery technology continuing to improve at its current rate. Batteries would be charged separately, meaning planes would not have to sit on the tarmac while power is replenished.

“The way we’ve designed our plane is to have modular battery packs for quick swap using the same cargo container that’s in a regular airplane.”, said Jeff Engler, one of Wright Electric’s founders.
